this sounds like a nasty pot luck dinner. is cycling okay for now?
yup cycling is fine. I'm hoping partial knee replacements are suggested.
Which one is your "good knee"? You're not making it easy for me to figure it out! Yuck is right. Hope they come up with a good game plan that gets you back into the woods.
Sorry to hear it, Hammer. At least the surgery for the meniscus tear is an easy one.
Bash, right knee used to be the good knee. I now refer to them as old injured knee and newly injured knee.
Hiking or biking at the Hottage?
...and a partridge in a pear tree!
Your knees make me sad and you're banned from running with me - we'll have to train AG! to hog tie you if you ever attempt anything greater than a hobble.
Bah... hope you get a new set of knees soon!
Hey Z-man...I hope to do what your boss did and get the knee replacement surgery. Seems like the way to go.
some time on the mtb ain't all bad. paris to ancaster april 17, 2011
Yea, he is dong really fine. He isn't a sport type, but he said that he would have no problem running if he wanted to. It did take him 3 month to fully recover though.
Your knees do sound exactly like mine. I have an older bad knee and a newer bad knee. I'm happy for you that you can still bicycle and ski. I am anxiously awaiting your foray in to replacement knees.
Good luck Hammer! I hope the bad knees become better eventually.
Hammer, I was talking to Kissy last night and it turned out we had had identical thoughts when we saw this post. Which was, basically, we totally understood all those terms, whereas not all that long ago (at least for me) they would have been near gibberish! Good luck with it all. A good attitude has to help with stuff like this, and you have that in spades.
One thing you may wish to consider and might find that would offer some help is the possibility of moving to some unnamed high altitude, high wind location. The high altitude means you weigh (slightly, ever so slightly) less, which of course lighten the burden on those working joints, and high winds force extra amounts of oxygen through the skin pores, providing direct relief to the most sorely aggrieved areas. Plus, practically everyone finds biking in high winds to be so much more entertaining than biking in the more usual dead air zones. ; )
I, for one, don't know much about those at all. But, I hope you can get it sorted out. Maybe even listen to the Swampfoxes of the world. We need to get you back into action in some way.
