Circuits (Playground Circuits!) 20:00 [5]

Actually really hard! Not even kidding..
2 circuits (plus two repeated exercises):
1min pullups (or as close to as I could manage)
1min pressups suspended between balance beams
1min bunny hops or whatever you're meant to call them
1min squats on hanging tyres (adding the balance element of fun)
1min flying fish in the wooden triangles (having to lift up further)
1min one legged squats/heel raises balancing on stepping stones
1min slide hill reps
1min balancing along the chain bridge (basically a rest)
1min handstand against a wall

Running warm up/down (Jogging) 10:00 [3]

Bit of "control circle practise" on the way there, sprinting in and out of likely control sites

Monday Apr 29, 2013 #

Running intervals (Short) 15:00 [5]

10 15 second hill sprints (off path)
rest
10 15 second downhill sprints (forest road)
rest
10 15 second downhill sprints (forest road)

Running warm up/down (Jogging) 15:00 [2]

Up/down the track before/after

S&C 10:00 [3]

Some squats and "bird dogs". No way am I doing these right.

Sunday Apr 28, 2013 #

Running long (Path/Terrain) 1:55:00 [3] 13.0 km (8:51 / km)

Silurian way with mum. Some sculpture appreciation/mourning going on there (someone has vandalised our favourite!). I sort of expected to feel tired and rubbish but it was actually really nice and I was fine. I definitely should have done a harder week last week but to be honest there's a bit of revision prioritisation having to be done after missing a week.

Friday Apr 26, 2013 #

Other/Cross Training (Trampolining) 30:00 [2]

Took a revision guide out = practise map reading?

S&C (Core ) 15:00 [4]

Running men, wall squats and standing rotations (still a few weeks behind on Kim's weekly core)

Thursday Apr 25, 2013 #

S&C (Circuits) 20:00 [2]

Rather tame ones, feeling really tired atm

Wednesday Apr 24, 2013 #

Orienteering (Forest) 44:00 [3]

It was going really well until I got lost in the crags, I relocated off a path bend and off number 14 but I still couldn't find it for ages. Carried on until number 12 and I was sure I was in the right place but I obviously wasn't. Damn. Quite proud actually - I didn't even get angry just calmly ripped up my map and went for a run, saw some bunnies and crossed the marsh without getting wet feet. A very successful evening I think..

Running (Terrain) 20:00 [4]

Rather enjoyable. I went a bit of an indie way back to the carpark, over some craqs and marshes an' shit

S&C (Glutes and core) 10:00 [2]

Tuesday Apr 23, 2013 #

Orienteering 20:00 [3]

Control collecting after primary schools' O

Running (Easy Run ) 35:00 [3]

We planned to do a fast run but neither of us have had enough sleep and then mum brought up the subject of a piece of coursework a teacher has lost so I was a bit too stressed to run properly

Monday Apr 22, 2013 #

Circuits 30:00 [4]

All the jumpy excercises

Having a bit of a lazy day because World Schools' was just such hard work har har

Wednesday Apr 17, 2013 #

Orienteering 1:30:00 [3]

WORLD SCHOOLS
Model events - getting used to the beautiful heat and generally checking out the lay of the land, the look of the cacti and all that jazz

Saturday Apr 13, 2013 #

Orienteering race (Forest Middle) 39:06 [4] 3.7 km (10:34 / km)

yay first half decent race in ages! I haven't looked at the results and I don't plan on doing because I'm quite happy to believe I did well. Definitely sticking to the mad rush and as much stress as possible start routine because it seems to work best :D

Orienteering warm up/down (jogging and drills) 15:00 [3]

Plus a little stretching

Friday Apr 12, 2013 #

Cycling 1:15:00 [3]

First time on ferry in like years - so exciting! That side of the lake is a much better cycling road, must remember that next time

Thursday Apr 11, 2013 #

Cycling 55:00 [4]

Crazy mad rush type of cycling because some sillybugger told me it would take about 45 minutes

Wednesday Apr 10, 2013 #

4 PM

Cycling 1:00:00 [4] 13.8 km (4:21 / km)

Cycling the other way over Gummers Howe #Radical
6 PM

Orienteering race (Forest Middle) 40:44 [4]

First of the summer technical series
It went reasonable well but I still managed two stupid timewasting activities - misreading 7 as 5 so I went to the wrong control and going to the wrong knoll/gate for number 14. Other than that it was good.

Orienteering 25:00 [3]

Collecting controls
Practising some bearings because I've noticed mine getting worse recently. Hopefully it helped

Orienteering warm up/down (Jogging) 15:00 [2]

Up to the start and back down from the finish

Tuesday Apr 9, 2013 #

Cycling 55:00 [4] 13.8 km (3:59 / km)

Not in so much of a rush today but somehow got there faster? Life is weird.

S&C 15:00 [2]

Plank and running mans (running men?)

Monday Apr 8, 2013 #

Cycling 1:05:00 [4] 13.8 km (4:43 / km)

Over Gummers Howe and down to Crosthwaite for work. Left a little late (oops) so I had a whale of a time trying to rush up that wonderful (ha. no) hill. Definitely worth it for the downhill :D

Sunday Apr 7, 2013 #

Orienteering race (Open Fell) 1:21:00 [4] 7.5 km (10:48 / km) +375m 8:38 / km

Bit tired from yesterday and this was the hilliest course I've done for ages! I thought it went ok, I was going quite slowly and the worst thing that happened was a bad route choice to number 6, but apparently everyone went that way

Orienteering warm up/down (Jog to/from) 15:00 [2]

S&C (Glutes and core) 20:00 [1]

Saturday Apr 6, 2013 #

Orienteering (Trains) 34:43 [3] 4.29 km (8:06 / km)

Sand dune training at Roanhead with Carrie. Went pretty well, I think maybe one of the ones I left for Carrie was in the wrong depression but she didn't notice so never mind.. I didn't feel like I got as confused by the dunes as usual which either bodes well for world schools' or hints that I've been to that area too many times. I always forget how pretty it is - hard to believe it's so close to Barrow!

Orienteering warm up/down (Jog to/from) 18:24 [3] 3.89 km (4:44 / km)

To our first control back after. No idea where we parked which made for a spot of relocation practice!
8 AM

Running (Hilly run) 46:41 [3] 8.1 km (5:46 / km)

Normal grassgarth loop. Tried quite hard up the hill then had a little stop to watch some ducks and admire the view. Oh the ways to not revise..

Thursday Apr 4, 2013 #

Running warm up/down (Jog to/from) 28:00 [3] 5.64 km (4:58 / km)

Jogging to Back Lane, down the hill between intervals and home

Running intervals (Long) 16:51 [5] 3.0 km (5:37 / km)

2 x 1500m ~ 800m up Back Lane (steep) and ~700m along the top (undulating) Recovery as ~500m back down the hill to the junction

Running intervals (Short) 3:44 [5] 0.8 km (4:40 / km)

2 x 800m w/ 30s rest
Didn't plan to do these but I really wanted to go on the park but there were some people in the way who would probably laugh at me, so I had to look busy while they finished their recycling.

Running (Sprints) 2:32 [5] 0.6 km (4:13 / km)

6 100m sprints

Wednesday Apr 3, 2013 #

S&C (Core) 10:00 [1]

Running long 55:00 [3] 11.0 km (5:00 / km)

Abbots Reading with Carrie and Mum. Felt like I haven't seen a hill in years

Tuesday Apr 2, 2013 #

Running (Recovery run) 1:00:00 [2]

Long jog with Hannah up Bigland.

Monday Apr 1, 2013 #

Orienteering warm up/down (Jogging) 10:00 [3]

Panicking that I wasn't going to be at the start on time (I wasn't). Left the tent with ages to go but then I lost my emit which was scary to say the least. Poor Grace..

Orienteering race (relay) 22:31 [4]

Best race of the weekend, actually enjoyed the whole thing and didn't get lost. Plus my team won which is always a bonus :D
