Hill reps on Spen Lane - decided to do the lads session, where it was running hard on the uphill and still running quite fast on the downhill - so more of a continuous effort, although going much harder on the uphill.
Really strange. Felt amazing for the first 2 reps, then suddently started struggling on rep 3. On rep 4 I felt absolutely horrendous, then my shoelace came undone so had to stop to sort it out. I was aiming for 8 so thought it would work quite well and allow me to smash the last 4.
Then felt even worse on the 5th rep, wasn't running fast AT ALL, but felt like my whole body was just full of lactic acid/dying. So I set off on the 6th really steady, and even then I just crawled up the hill and felt horrendous. At the top I just stopped and felt so sick I decided to call it a day - just didn't feel right.
Had felt weirdly under the weather all day - wondering if I ate/drank something a bit dodgy yesterday. On the upside, think the cough is shifted!
