New set from Kenny.
Didn’t feel physical hard just not fun with having to work on my weaknesses rather than my strength :’)

Felt okay - a little hard.
Still dying at 4.20s/km.
On the main road from Limekilns as an afternoon in the sunshine at the wall. Got up a couple of routes (first proper outside climbing, was scary!). Fun :).
Big old blister from last weekend on some of right foot has finally burst and it’s so sore !

Note

Session with Kenny at project:physio (notes for future me).
Have seen Kenny before at uni and have been influenced by others that use him atm.
No real pain or injuries at the moment but went to see if he could advise on my long term dodgy left knee.
He was so so helpful!! And not just giving generic advice like others do. He thinks something is structurally wrong with my knee so it doesn’t/can’t fully extend. Something that if I’d felt a few weeks ago he’d advise a scan to see what it was, but seeing I’ve had this for 10years that I just manage we agreed to no more scans and to try and work on strengthening it and dealing with it as much as possible. Just means I forever risk injuring my right side and won’t (until investigated further with possible surgery) have a fully functioning left leg.
Left quad noticeably smaller than my right (no mirrors at home so haven’t really noticed…actually laughable how different they look).
My glutes/ post chain very strong due to only doing this in the gym atm… neglected quads as thought they were strong enough (turns out to be the opposite).
Plan going forward: gym 3-4 times a week (unsure how I’ll fit this in…) and exercises including spilt squats, step ups (all a lot slower and heavier than I do now) and calf work. Back in a month time with hopefully a bigger left quad :).
So refreshing to hear this advice from Kenny and not just a ‘I don’t think we can fix this without seeing what it is with an mri’ or ‘you have weak glutes’ (something I definitely don’t have atm) or ‘you need to stop running’ !!
