Sorry to see all the tough conditions for you and the the residents in the area. The forecast seems to be a couple more snow/rain events this weekend.

How are you doing?

It just never stops. Even the NOAA forecasters are just like "probably another couple feet of snow coming up top, expect the highway to close for days again". The details don't matter anymore.

Today was James's 3.5-th day of school (half day called in advance of todays storm) out of the last three weeks. It's snowing all next week too.

Better rent a house in Reno for a week or two.

Reno is under flood warnings so not going to be great there either!

Snowpack is doing okay. TBF Cristina, 100" in the passes closed for winter. Only 60-80" on I-80.

The Palisades Ops Blog has been a fun read, with things like "Normally, this would not be cause for a full closure, but the compounded effect of the incessant wet or snowy weather we have had over the past few weeks puts us in a different situation." Things like hand-digging out lifts because the snow is piled too high underneath them.

Meanwhile here we have another rain storm, but 2-3 feet of snow not far away. Or as they'd say in Truckee: "a dusting."

Only 60-80" on I-80 is my favorite statement today.

Which part of Reno could possibly flood???

Downtown, which the Truckee River runs through, and around the airport, apparently. Reno is quite flat. https://www.rgj.com/picture-gallery/news/2017/01/0...

We’re gradually catching up. Yesterday’s dump ended up close to 2-1/2’ at the house. Getting ready to welcome you in April! Too deep to groom for now.

We're not coming over to VT because we miss snow... so you best melt all that.

Those are impressive flooding photos! I wasn't thinking so much about whether downtown is flat or not, but more about how tiny the Truckee River looks normally as it is flowing away from Reno, and down in a canyon.
