Glad you got out there - nice plan! Too bad about the air quality. :(

was also thinking a fun run would be to start at the trail to the Crack then run to silver peak and then back to the bell lake parking via the old logging trail

Super:
I know some people who are really good at navigation who could help a lot on a trip like that.

I did some running around while at Bell Lake parking lot to see how visible the old logging road is and it seems straight forward. It really is too bad there isn’t an option to officially hike/run directly to Silver Peak from Bell Lake parking. I guess they want to rent lots of canoes.

The last time we went up there, we met a couple of groups who had come that way. I think it’s marked on the old Jeff’s Map although with no text. I think they want to keep the masses from finding out.

I was thinking about how amazing Killarney lidar would be. yes it is on Jeff’s maps. Those maps and the unlostify maps have a lot of great info on them but they made some of the most important info (for me anyways) hard to read - the contours.

Agreed. I like the extra info on those maps but I always end up taking a 2nd map.

I had a short talk with Jeff about that. I tried to convince him that the contour detail is more important in Killarney than it is in Algonquin. It didn't help.

You were right. They still haven't come out with the new Unlostify map for Algonquin. I feel bad for him but I think the old Jeff's Maps were closer to being on the right track.
