Paddling 1:45:00 [3]

Quick 2-day trip to Killarney PP and all its awesomeness. Saw a one-night backcountry site availability a week ago that aligned with two days of no rain and I jumped on it. Was in the canoe just over 2 hours after leaving the Waddtage!

Smoke was thick from NW Ontario wildfires so I had to cancel my Silver Peak run as it would have been bad for the lungs and bad visibility from the peak. Reviewing papers in a hammock, water running and swimming instead.

If my body isn't too destroyed after WT I will go back in late August and hope for better air quality.

Carling loop with the Smiths and friends. Pretty loop with little traffic for early on weekday but hwy559 still scares me.

Orienteering 30:00 [3] 2.6 km (11:33 / km)
ahr:131 max:153

Orienteering at Nine Mile Beach with Oivind and Jan Erik while Janet and Etoile hiked at GN with Groot. Sunny and no humidity and no bugs. Oivind really enjoyed the orienteering and agrees that the terrain is NAOC quality. Just need him to retire in Parry Sound and take on the business side of the race organization. ;-)

Note
(rest day)

Tweet of the day:

"Cool cool. Another billionaire rode into space on a phallus"

Meanwhile the planet is burning...

On a related note is it time for race organizers (trail running, MTB, AR, O, etc.) to think twice about hosting races in the peak of summer heat and/or in the middle of peak fire season in areas prone to fire?
