10 AM

Run 1:53:00 [2] 7.71 mi (14:39 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Grid Omni Trail

Swarthmoor Hall, Hill Fort, Urswick ridge, Birkrigg, Mountbarrow, Bardsea Leisure Park. Very windy, chilly too in places. Walked from farm to top of Birkrigg as calves & left hamstring all very sore. First hour jogging to Birkrigg, then felt a real shuffle.
Previous times 8/9/2012 1hr 39mins 3/6/2012 1hr 25mins.
So 4 weeks after starting regime maybe I shouldn't be too disappointed in this.

Run 37:00 [3]
shoes: Salomon Fellcross

Birkrigg X-roads - along side around back to Sea Wood. One loop and then climb to trig point. Worked hard at keeping form with left leg to protect knee. First outing with Fellcross - squeaky soles.

Run 1:12:00 [3]
shoes: Montrail Highlander

Kirkby Moor with Selwyn. Reverse of previous outing. Felt dead on the second climb, jarred left knee and walked all of the up, and still finished 3 mins up on previous time - wierd! Just another couple of days and then an easy recovery week - looking forward to that.

Run 1:17:00 [4] 6.0 mi (12:50 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Grizzly Approach

Haverthwaite Lane Ends - with old gits. Ran most of the day with Dave Nield, John Pullin & John Nash. Over Haverthwaite Heights, across railway, river & under A590. Climb up road to Trundle Brow, descend bridleway into Low Wood. Chased them all way down trundle brow & caught them in fields alongside Fishhouse Lane. Very warm day - dripping as down on tarmac section down to Roudsea Woods. Loop across river & back along embankment, through woods & back via Haverthwaite. Good effort after yesterday - knackered by the end.

Run 3:23:00 [1]

Parked at Torver. Very sunny day, although clouds coming in from the coast. Up Old Man of Coniston in 1hr 23mins. Another 25mins around to Dow Crag. Then continued along ridge to Walna Scar road - crossed and continue along ridge before descending after 2hrs 15mins. Tentative on the descent and difficult finding correct line. Tired at the end.
