Out to the Alps with the Gran Canaria squad, plus Gen and Joe.
bit of a gery chill day but company was good.
VMs a bit stiff after yestrday's efforts - so things a bit weird.

Feeling less than brilliant, could easily be put down to the hangover from yesterday's ride. So I think I'm improving.

Fail day
after watching Sam and Bethan at the Greenmantle Dash (Sam 3rd) - plan was to ride from Howgate, but no shoes. So home and ride from there. Puncture on the way out to the Granites and then the intended VO2 Power test was a fail.
run 1 packed in after 5 minutes as power was dropping inexorably. had a 2nd and 3rd go and they lasted about 2:30. graphs show it all and right decision to go home.
Power initially where I would have hoped, but unable to maintain, best being about 3 minutes and I did better than that on Thursday.
Still carrying something of the cold as lungs a bit raw in the evening.

almost forgot, I did a lap of the Seat at the end sort of by way of checking / making aments 320 up / 308 across.

Spectator today.
Sam did the duathlon and was 6th, well pleased.
Kate did the duathlon and was 5th vet and 2nd first timer - very chuffed, especially with gaining the fastest split for 2nd transition !
