running 30:00 [2]

An easy run before breakfast. It felt good to be running and I was glad I got in some exercise before it got hot. We're expecting another 100+ day.

I was home in time to sit in front of the TV and watch the TDF time trial.

cycling 45:00 [1]

Work commute. In the morning it was as comfortable as it has been in a while. It was hot coming home - 100F when I left the office.

rowing 20:00 [1]

Row, row. Too hot to get myself out the front door.

After the little bit of rowing, I made some chocolate-chili popsicles. I'm looking forward to seeing how they taste once they've had a bit more time in the freezer.

cycling 45:00 [1]

Work commute. Another hot day, but not as unpleasant as yesterday.

running 20:00 [2]

Short run. I dropped by the store and picked up a loaf of bread on the run. The bank near the grocery store said the temp was 104. It wasn't that hot, but it might have been around 98. In any case, it was hot.

Note

Tilford has an interesting blog entry on pressure/performance.

Note

Today was a walk-to-work day. But, it won't be a walk-home-from-work day. Mary is picking me up after work and we're going out for dinner. I guess I could walk home from dinner if I wanted to enjoy the weather:

Lawrence, KS (66047)
Fair
98°F (feels like 108°F)

While I'm waiting for Mary, I've been looking at some maps and routes from people training for the French WOC terrain. Pasi Ikonen's routes are interesting.

rowing 20:00 [1]

Row, row.

cycling 45:00 [1]

I managed to get up early and take advantage of the relatively nice weather. I biked to/from Clinton overlook. I pushed the pace a bit, especially on the climb along Clinton Parkway and on parts of the trip back home.

running 40:00 [2]

Jogging on the trails at Clinton. I was the first person on the trails for the day, so I had a few spider webs to remove. Felt slow, as expected. But, I also felt pretty good.
