Discussion: Editing gpx file

I haven't tried adding to a gpx, but it should be possible. I have deleted points from a gpx file (when I forgot to stop my watch). You can open the file in a text editor, or use GPX Editor (http://sourceforge.net/projects/gpxeditor/). GPX Editor makes it really easy to delete from a track, but you might have to mess around in a text editor to add to a track(?).

What I would try is to add a single point at the start, at the correct time, and let it jump to the next point.

Using the text editor did the trick. I took my last point and copied/pasted it to the front and changed the time stamp. Edited about 15 seconds off the back end too.
Thanks for the heads up!

I just tried it myself, too, and it worked great. It's nice when things work the way you expect them to...

No extreme editing allowed though. Rainbow unicorn you are fast enough already without messing with GPS files!

OK OK! No super human flying over lakes and marshes to the finish then. I'll have to save my jetpack for the ultimate frisbee club I'm (not really) in.
Curious if any of you know why Tom and Darryn's GPS logs are not compared against everyone else's on the AP route compare thingy.... Pretty fun to see those stacked up on each other and where success and mistakes happen.

I think in order to be synched with others and AP splits the gpx file needs to be within 10 seconds of the epunch time .

That is correct. However, they don't need to change the GPX file, just the time on their entry. So, if their watch time is 1:00:45, and their epunch time is 1:00:25, they just need to take 20 seconds off of the time in AP.
