A very tough debut, congratulations on completing a real course!! Thanks for entering, without your enthusiasm I might just have thought what a good idea and never entered!

Great ride, allowing for the longer in/out with one loop, we were going at the same speed, except I only did the one lap. I found the same with the hills, when I struggled to close the gap on the flat, by the top of the hill they were well behind. One guy caught me from the later wave, I kept pace with him on the flat and was blown away on a shortish climb.

A lot of people were shocked by the cold on the sprint and most tried the ride in tri-tops or similar and suffered with the cold. I dried my feet thoroughly, put on socks and wore a long sleeved top and was fine despite poor circulation. No idea where the time went in T1, 30s faffing with top and 30s drying with towel, but 45s to 60s unaccounted for!

I will wear two hats next time. Yes, I plan to have a another crack at it, but certainly not the Olympic course.

Hi Tom, how do you find out on your position on the splits?

Just spotted Emma would have been 8 secs ahead of me leaving T1 if we'd been in the same wave, comes of being 66s slower in transition. Come to think of it, women only waves are good thing, less embarrassing for us blokes!

Well done Tom, your first one done and it was bloody cold.
I definately advise doing one in the summer next time and I'm sure you learned plenty. Maybe a half next year?

Well done! I did the sprint tri at Hever a few years ago and also decided it was too cold - had the same thing with not being able to feel my feet until the run, and got stung by a wasp on the bike just to make things better.

Definitely inspired me to do an olympic tri next year.

You can keep him Emma but it would be great if we all did an Olly next year together?

Is that it Paul? "you can keep him Emma"? Aren't you going to fight for me? So hurt right now.

I think the wounds could heal in time to do an olly next year though!
