Conditioning (Strength) 20:00 [2]

Strength stuff with Jeff

Saturday Nov 19, 2011 #

1 PM

Running tempo 36:18 intensity: (6:40 @1) + (2:40 @2) + (19:21 @3) + (7:37 @4) 6.75 km (5:23 / km) +6m 5:21 / km
ahr:172 max:194

First proper tempo run. Francis' suggested pace of 4:20 to a kilometre turned out to be a bit too fast, so I ran two kilometre intervals at that pace instead of a straight 5 k. 3 x 2km intervals at 4:20/km with about 3 minutes rest after each one. Probably would have benefit from a longer warmup too.

Rock Climbing 1:12:20 intensity: (5:42 @0) + (33:45 @1) + (31:36 @2) + (1:17 @3)
ahr:135 max:178

Not a great day for climbing. Nothing really interesting happened.

Running (Active recovery) 31:36 intensity: (7 @1) + (8:41 @2) + (22:48 @3) 5.61 km (5:38 / km) +31m 5:29 / km
ahr:173 max:189

Fairly easy run off campus. Was lucky enough to find an interesting 5 km loop that I'll probably be running at least once a week.

Running 1:30:29 intensity: (8:57 @0) + (18:44 @1) + (36:01 @2) + (13:48 @3) + (12:59 @4) 10.97 km (8:15 / km) +26m 8:09 / km
ahr:153 max:199

Had a really good training run today. Forgot to mark warm-up/down differently from the interval workout itself, so it's all bundled into one here. Should be fairly easy to tell what's what though.

Rock Climbing (Endurance) 1:45:18 intensity: (11:19 @0) + (57:40 @1) + (30:15 @2) + (6:04 @3)
ahr:134 max:188

Tried to keep it fairly easy today, just doing a number of easy-ish courses, with little or no breaks in between.

Orienteering race (B-meet) 1:03:08 [3] 6.3 km (10:01 / km)

Kinda screwed up my watch here. Didn't have my heart rate monitor and somehow didn't get gps log. As such, distance here is as the crow flies.

Conditioning 40:00 [3]

Mostly stretching, plus a little bit of strength work. The stretching was based on the "Stretching For Men" video Jeff introduced me to, though sadly I didn't actually have it today, and the strength stuff was mostly climbing focused.

Orienteering (Line-O) 1:28:02 intensity: (10 @0) + (2:19 @1) + (41:27 @2) + (44:06 @3) 15.7 km (5:36 / km) +21m 5:34 / km
ahr:167 max:183

Nice long line-o type run on roads. Thanks to Jeff for creating the map for it.

Running 26:21 intensity: (14 @1) + (4:54 @2) + (21:13 @3) 3.03 mi (8:42 / mi) +4m 8:40 / mi
ahr:175 max:188

First run with my new GPS watch. Woo! Not really sure why my heart-rate was that high, but maybe I just am that way. I'll have to see as I get more runs in with it.
