very nice bit of wood below Gardom's ... which we do not have permission to use ... yet

Orienteering race 34:11 [4] 4.1 km (8:20 / km) +75m 7:38 / km
shoes: Inov8 Oroc 340

YHOA Middle Distance Champs, Brimham Rocks
very good race, got the pace about right, route choices weren't always optimal, but no real mistakes, gave into temptation on the way to 16 and checked another control at the foot of a crag which I knew had to be too early, should've been pace counting from the start of the wood, or running hard till I got close to the track

1st, very pleased with that, 3mins ahead of Frostbite

Matlock Moor aka Farley Moor
test run of the Blue course, had a suspicion it was a short brown in disguise, suspicion confirmed, I think, but perhaps only because the bramble in the north was heinous, much worse than when mapped earlier this year (Feb) - will it die down by mid Jan?

Bottom Moor Loop
I've been spoiling myself recently, taking the car and running on the Edges, or Stanton, time to get back to the bread and butter

very good pace up Farley Hill, didn't have any problems after the long haul to Bottom Moor, felt my chest a bit on the fast stretch along Farley Lane, easily the quickest time for this route (I think)

the fields (of bracken) below Gardom's Edge, plenty of boulders there, big ones, and the bracken isn't too deep
