Arrived in Paris yesterday after a 21 hour trip from SFO via IAD. Not too bad a flight, although on the leg from SFO to IAD, the guy in front of me had his seat all the way back and was almost in my lap. I spent a productive few hours doing the initial course design for the middle distance course at the Team Trials set for May 09 at Boggs Mountain park. His seat was so close I had to rest the computer on my armrest and into the aisle. I set one set of courses, but decided they were too long for a middle distance course (9 km for blue), so moved the start further away from the assembly area and cut the course down to about 5.3 km. It looks like there's some nice contour detail in some areas of the map, and other areas have some fast running with small features.

Don't know when I will get a chance to get some exercise in. Maybe I will try to go for a run in Parc Monceau a few blocks from our apartment tomorrow.

Went up to the top of the Eiffel Tower today for the first time, despite many visits to Paris. Pretty view, but was an hour wait to get to the elevators. I probably would have walked up, but Jill would not have made it, so we rode the whole way except for coming down from the 2nd level to the first level.

Food is great, but really expensive, particularly with the weak dollar. A cheesburger at a local restaurant was $18 (12 Euros).

Was hoping to get one final run in before I leave tomorrow, but I put off doing so much that I spent the whole day packing and taking care of things I should have taken care of long ago.
