O race 1:05:00 [4] 5.9 km (11:01 / km) +310m 8:43 / km

Belivat and Coulmony. a combination of big swoopy morrainy lumps covered in grass and bracken. And some trees, I suppose. Birch maybe. This is troubling. Is it time for cocoa yet nurse? Anyway, first third lovely. Second third mostly lovely but a bit bigger and more bracken. Sprint finish to the road crossing, shameless rest, pee, look at course, bend over double a bit. Somewhere I lost a minute at number 6, having not quite pictured the circle properly.

Then a big drop, back up into marshy brackeny, you cant run in this stuff. Probably some trees too. Having done OK up to here decided I had to grow a pair, follow Sarah Noot up the hill (not connected) and actually try a bit.

14th. 8th Brit and probably one of my better runs this year, which was weird when comparing how crap I felt half way round. That Sarah Noot is very fast up hills.

Roseisle. Matt was 9mins faster than me on this. Stuffed up #1 again. Found two other controls first. On a 100m leg. (sighs)

Also #5 stuff up, route choice probably Ok but iffy in the circle.

Other than that it was all lovely, but feeling a bit disheartened by early errors

Loch of Boath. Chugged round in the rain, found them all. Was conscious of holding back until the end to make sure I didn't have another stuff-o-rama. Probably iffy route choice to 9, but they were all hard
