HCC Crit. Is there an intensity higher than 5? Hoooolllyy crap. It was 37 degrees, windy as all hell, and I got dropped on lap 2 when the pack attacked on the hill. I spent the next 20 minutes absolutely killing myself and got back onto the pack, before the leaders attacked again on the second last lap and dropped me again. Ended up 5th of 9 and very close to the leaders so pretty happy with that.

So absolutely cooked now. I just don't have any explosive power at all, so it was a real diesel effort to catch back up (I had company, but she wasn't really strong enough to lead). I feel I may never be good at these crits until I gain some more fast twitch fibres. My throat was dry and burning at the end.
