Running 1:44:39 [2] 21.49 km (4:52 / km) +159m 4:42 / km

Bit of a lacklustre finish to the week, couldn't really be sacked to do any more than this. Looped around Denny Lodge down to Brock and then back home. Rather disorientating in their, didn't really know where I'd pop out but thankfully didn't get stuck in the woods. Highlight was probably some outstanding group flossing that was taking place on Matley.

Running 2:07:31 [2] 28.44 km (4:29 / km) +238m 4:18 / km

Ran down to parkrun, did the parkrun and then ran back from the parkrun. Lovely morning to have the forest to myself for a bit, got nicely lost in thought.
Course is in Wilverley Inclosure on the forest tracks, quite undulating and there were a couple of little hills in there that didn't feel too good. Was joined at the front by a lady being pulled around by a dog which was kinda fun - the dog was not enjoying being challenged and died a death after about 3k. Bit ambivalent about the time (16:55) but considering the course / lack of brekkie / lack of sessions I can't really complain. Record is 16:36 so would like to get that at some point.
And then back home the same way.

Note
(rest day)

Today I was going to run an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening. Instead, I have a serious case of cba to do anything remotely productive, fun times.

Running 2:48:20 [2] 35.75 km (4:43 / km) +494m 4:24 / km

Well that was a rather lovely run; looped to the northern end of the forest and couldn't really have asked for more. So nice to just head out the door and have some proper peace and quiet for a couple of hours; wasn't really planning on running for more than two hours but could never quite turn for home. So easy to extend without making it contrived as well.

Orienteering 1:10:05 [3] 16.23 km (4:19 / km) +147m 4:08 / km

WSX Night League - Winchester. (Time + distance includes WU/WD)

Woke up feeling worse than yesterday so ditched the morning mileage and instead spent the day feeling shite and grumpy, so wasn't really too keen on going but hey ho.
Start and finish at the rugby club - scene of one hell of a grim cup final back in the day. And some of the most care free, post A-level one bounce afternoons that really were top notch.
Didn't spend enough time at the start looking at the controls so ended up faffing majorly on a route that was probably far from optimal and resulted in much standing still. Will be interesting to see the results, course felt awkward to run so probably well planned - or I'm just wildly out of practise.
Good fun though; hopefully I wasn't spotted by too many people, particularly after making a concerted effort to move through the usual haunts at great speed.

Running 59:18 [2] 12.64 km (4:41 / km) +95m 4:31 / km

Easy on Matley. Was going to raz later but woke up with a sore throat, so perfect excuse to just take it easy.

Running 59:17 [2] 12.7 km (4:40 / km) +95m 4:30 / km

Exactly the same as this morning, except this time it was bloody soaking. Had expected to be viciously mauled by a pack of savage wolves but thankfully they were all indoors keeping dry, so I survived.

Monday Dec 17, 2018 #

Running 31:15 [2] 7.07 km (4:25 / km) +97m 4:08 / km

Easy out and back on Matley. Hopefully won't get too psyched out by all the eyes before long.
