Orienteering 1:15:11 [3] 17.18 km (4:23 / km) +122m 4:14 / km

Wellington College SN event - getting nicely duped a couple of times but other than that an alright run around and the bit in the buildings was fun. Highlight of the day was without a doubt seeing the most handsome of young men, looking rather fly in some classic Masson family clothing.

Orienteering 46:21 [2] 9.19 km (5:03 / km) +81m 4:50 / km

This week I will be significantly less lazy.

Running 2:00:08 [2] 26.04 km (4:37 / km) +234m 4:25 / km

Down to the parkrun again to get a bit of a workout. Keep meaning to do some higher intensity but really don't have the motivation, so a little 5k effort is kinda ideal. Legs felt like trash on the way over but not too bad once I got going. Once again had Jazz the dog for company, but unfortunately she tied up badly after about 2k, so it was a woofless grind to the end. About 10secs faster than last week so that's nice. The guy with the school marathon record was there and I have to say I'm very much looking forward to claiming that title from him in the not so distant future.
I am also very much looking forward to the ultimate showdown with Mr Mosson tomorrow.

Running 1:08:49 [2] 14.8 km (4:39 / km) +198m 4:21 / km

Highland Water loop. First clear day since being back, rather nice. Had intended another run but cba.

Busy busy day and got a Danny Ings hat trick to watch (sorry Tam).

Running 25:30 [2] 5.4 km (4:43 / km) +20m 4:38 / km

Headed out for a little pre match before the boxing day canter; headphones in, just out and back along the main road for ~20mins.
On the way back I looked up and noticed a Porsche had come to a stop in the road. This seemed weird; there didn't seem to be anything wrong with it, and the turn for the golf course was further along. But when it started to turn round and the driver became visible, I could have sworn I knew who it was.
But it couldn't have been - this guy was driving a Porsche, and isn't from the area. So I put it down to being in a morning daze, but when I got close it appeared I had been correct.
The driver was none other than Mr Eddie Nicholas, in a rather cheerful mood (which is strange because he was off the IOW). What a lovely coincidence!
Although I did then forget to restart the watch so about a mile or so is lost forever.

Orienteering 1:16:54 [4] 15.91 km (4:50 / km) +184m 4:34 / km

A classic edition of the WIM Boxing Fay Score.
Think I picked a decent enough route, although was slightly concerned about the amount of time spent in the tussocks at the beginning. Moving ok and apart from a couple of minor wanderings, swept them up with plenty of time. Of course the deciding factor is actually whether you get the three special controls, and having hit Santa and the fairies early on it seemed it would be all g. But got to the finish with about ten minutes to spare but no sighting of the tree, despite having looped the entire area. So jogged about a bit to find it and thankfully it wasn’t too far away, full points completed.

Running 1:05:13 [2] 13.6 km (4:48 / km) +245m 4:24 / km

Nice and easy in highland water. Felt pretty heavy to begin with but loosened off alright ready for a Moors Valley burn up tomorrow.

Running 1:02:46 [2] 12.44 km (5:03 / km) +93m 4:52 / km

Took about an hour of procrastination in bed before eventually getting out. Just a loop of Matley - nice enough morning but feeling a bit dead. Lost a stand off with a group of ponies, stubborn bastards.
Will probably leave it at this for today and take an easier week to try and summon up some motivation.
