I decided to bow out of the race due to a steep downhill, which Mellie does not so well. But to our good fortune, they changed the course and we did 3 laps on the field. Fun and fast. Mellie was going nuts before the start and I was grateful for the assistance from a friendly ski patrol woman who helped to keep the wild beast in check. When the start finally came, Mellie took off so fast that she ripped me off my feet. Fortunately, this only cost us a few seconds. She pulled like a champ the entire three laps and both carabiner hooks were damaged. I thought I needed to get something sturdier ...

Moved to Green Acres due to poor snow at Phalen. Nice to get to do this after Sisu Ski Fest was cancelled yesterday. A strong field, much stronger than I, but it was good to be moving about.
