Orienteering race 53:20 [5] 12.0 km (4:27 / km)

Didcot Urban Race - Open (Course 6.9km)

Only decided on Saturday to run.... caught train over which worked pretty well

A bit like running around Bradley Stoke, but it was a pretty well planned course with a bit of route choice and quite a lot of thinking to find the best route.

Just a couple of mistakes - no 7 and 26 to 27 (where I thought I was trying to be clever by taking a different route to Ian Embrey who caught me at 25, only to come to a wall I had not seen!! A couple of other routes which were not optimum (1-2 and 14-15) otherwise ok. Got a little bored of the out and back bits towards the end (but maybe that was because I was knackered and just wanted to get to finish!!).

6th (7:03 behind Jonny Crickmore and 17 seconds ahead of Mark Burley)

NB Based on actual distance given on TVOC website min/km would have only put Roger Thetford ahead of me (and he did map!)..... but think the M40+ and women open class should be scrapped at urbans and everyone does same course where entry is so small

Team Monday Solo Run - Found a good route which I may introduce to others if they fancy venturing over to East Bristol sometime...

Through St Georges Park and over to Troopers Hill, through to Dundridge Park, Conham Vale and up to Hanham and then a loop around woods by river and back by Conham Abbots, Crews Hole, Troopers Hill and St Georges Park

Gorgeous evening for it and longer than I have done by myself for a while.... need a couple of longer runs as entered the long course at the BOK Long O in 2 weeks (someone else can take names on the road crossing if there are any this year!!)

Worcester Park Run - felt good first and last km which were both c. 3:35..... could prob have pushed it a bit harder today to stay with 2nd when he passed me at around 1.5km.... but still wary of twinge in hamstring..... got the BOK record for WWPR and my PR pb....

Lunchtime run from work, - across downs, Ladies Mile, down path by Bridge Valley to Portway, along Portway under Suspension Bridge (into very strong head wind!), across Cumberland Basin, past Create Centre ansd along Festival Way, past Bower Ashton, left into Ashton Court, across the car park field and baloon feita site, down to Mansion and back up through deer park to agte house, Suspension Bridge, Observatory Hill and back across downs.... felt like hard work today

(Glute a little sore to start, but didn't get any worse during run)

Steady run from Pomphrey Road Playing fields, Rodway Common and getting lost in some housing estates - took it steady, but felt pretty good.

Glute slightly sore, but better than Saturday

Thought Rodway Common, Pomphrey Playing Fields, new estates nearby and Emersons Green South would make good urban - but I believe there were permissions issues with Rodway Common in 2009

Newport Park Run - started pretty well, hamstring felt sore after 2km, stopped to stretch then took it easy for rest!!!
