First parkrun back in Australia.
Time my worst ever in 55 parkruns but starting from a low base.
Never done West Beach as it wasnt opened last time I was here. Got about 4 new parkruns to catch up here with another 4-5 planned set to open shortly !

Managed the first 4 km without stopping in 23:32 (resurrected mapmyrun on my old iPhone using only GPS as no phone connection)
So 4 km in over my best ever 5 km time.
At least this means sub 30 minutes could be possible!

14-15 minutes for the 2.4 km outward leg so not as bad as I thought. Walked back.

Still too jet lagged and overcoming sleeping pills so legs wouldn't work properly.
Stopped several times on outward journey.
Slept for about 8 hrs from midnight so beginning to readjust.
Time not recorded - will start recording when I can run entire distance

Managed to run entire outward 2.4 km leg without stopping but walked entire way back

Lost heaps of fitness but have to keep trying.
Slept till midday for 14 hours so no chance to run earlier.

Ran complete outward leg despite it raining.
Walk with small amount of jog back.

Basically did close to zero running for last 6 months.
Went in at least 10 orienteering events but was badly sick several times so walked some and jogged others.
Did multiple 20 km hikes several times a month with groups of 50 people but this was the slow pace of a large group and the hills were insignificant. Walked 2 km to work daily but not every day. I attended the gym ONCE in 6 months so basically all muscle tone gone.

So summary is I can no longer run 5 km continuously and both my heart rate and breathing depth are very bad compared to prior Australian levels. I would pant walking 4 floors up to my apartment compared to Australia where I used to do 52 laps up and down the 3 flights of stairs in the car park.

Target is to run from mothers house to local shops (2.4 km) at least twice a day until I reach the point I can do so without stopping. On Saturdays I will resume parkrun and consider a 30 minute plus time as a bonus.

Had zero sleep overnight after waking at 1 pm yesterday so feel like death but have to start somewhere.
