AM DP to slough. Walked quite a bit on the ice - headed toward a dam, stopped when I could hear running water. Don't recall walking on the slough for quite some time. Beth & I had a winter lunch on it but that was some 10 years ago. Walked the other way, noted some grass & small branches, thinking it must be ground at surface level but it was beaver "trash". There was a lodge right here, on the shore backed up by thick pines. Would not have noticed except for walking on the ice. Released another mouse, emptying the house....

PM DP, more "training" - stopped at Mary Baker Eddy (Christian Science founder) birth site and walked up hill. Could see outline of old homestead where she was born 7/16/1821. There were benches for sitting & reflecting under the tall pines but not with the racket of Rt 93 200 yards away. What another world c. 1820. Maybe second visit in 15 years.
