Orienteering race 1:08:02 [5] *** 7.95 km (8:33 / km)
shoes: Inov8 x talon 212

nsw long. very physical early on contouring around cliifs. was taking it very slowly and felt exhausted so early on. which meant when it came to the time where you could really open up i struggled. walked alot. especially in the last loop where i really hit the wall and struggled so so much. forgot to take my asthma meds again last night but it didn't seem to affect me too much. my nav was spot on though. no mistakes at all. just a few hesitations

i'm quite tired right now

Orienteering race 37:42 [5] *** 5.48 km (6:53 / km)
shoes: Inov8 x talon 212

nsw middle champs. the course didn;t look too technically challenging and wasn't really. except i switched off and lost contact on the way to 2. relocated but lost a little time. also lost time being too high on number 9. the hills absolutely ruined me. the hill from 4-5 absolutely screwed me and then i struggled so much physically after that :( something i need to work on

Running warm up/down 10:15 [3] 2.0 km (5:08 / km)
shoes: Nike Free 5.0 v4

warm up

Running hills 25:00 [5] 3.6 km (6:57 / km)
shoes: Nike Free 5.0 v4

hill ints at king edward. in the cold, wet rain. it was only raining lightly on my w/u but it became steadily heavier and i got soaked. it wasn't too muddy in the gully but the grass was slippery by the end. also did it fairly late so it got dark on me. 6 of the normal ones then about 8 really short sprint ones up the side of the amphitheatre. my k rate went up heaps during the sprints cos i was slow walking back and losing motivation by that point. felt ok

Running 10:00 [2] 1.0 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: Inov8 x talon 212

warm up to our start/finish

Running intervals (terrain) 38:51 [4] 5.63 km (6:54 / km)
shoes: Inov8 x talon 212

terrain ints at brush creek.
started at a creek head, smashed down to the bottom track then along til we got to the next gully, then up that and contour round to the finish. ended up being 1.15km in length.
did 3 of those which ended up being 5:00, 5:13, 5:28 ie i got tired. also i forgot to take my asthma meds last night so i wasn't feeling too good breathing wise when going hard.
the start finish was just above control 5 of the short red from the w/e so me and callum did that course in reverse from there as a bit extra. we were very surprised to get to 3 and find a control there! i pulled it out but when we got to 2 that control was still there too and i thought perhaps they were meant to be left out so i went and put control 3 back. walked back from when we caught the others on the way back to the cars
