Orienteering 55:27 [1] 3.38 mi (16:24 / mi) +85m 15:13 / mi

Zygoat at Teanaway Forks

First summer camping trip! Sylvia is a much different being that she was last summer camping. She was pretty cranky at 7:30pm, so we tried to go to bed. *That* didn't work. Probably because it was still ridiculously light out. We had a toddler scream-crying at 9pm that she wanted "outside, outside!". Which all told, is a great problem to have...

Eventually got all of us to sleep, Sylvia's first time in a real sleeping bag, not a sleep sack. She stayed in it at least!

Oh, and then the racing part. Did ok, but am mad I missed one reentrant that I shouldn't have. Approach was ok, but must have been just down hill and didn't see control behind some green. Should have had more faith I was in the right reentrant. Think I did the right skip (#10).

Up to the start.

Orienteering 1:24:24 [1] 3.93 mi (21:28 / mi) +206m 18:28 / mi

Short Advanced @ Lick Creek

Woo! First completed o-course since injury! Did it walk/jogging with a pole in my left hand. Pain never unmanageable and didn't get noticeably worse during the course or anything.

Nav was pretty spikey, which is good given the speed I was going. Map is rough in places, but adds to the challenge. (Trust contours!)

Running 16:42 [1] 1.15 mi (14:31 / mi)

1 min walk, 1.5 min run, alternating. Dull pain while running, but didn't get worse during the run. And I didn't feel worse after yesterday's attempt either, so that's good!

Nice to be outside and also feels good to be done with all the thesis-reading!

Crosstrainer 14:59 [1] 0.14 mi (1:47:10 / mi)

Followed by some elliptical. Bored of the machines. But I have to remember I am making progress. A week ago I was only swimming and biking.

Running 10:47 [1] 0.66 mi (16:20 / mi) +14m 15:21 / mi

1 min walk, 1 min very easy jog (!), alternating

Both exciting and frustrating. Excited to be able to jog at all. Frustrating that there is (minor) pain associated with it and this is where I am 14 weeks before WOC. Was a beautiful day and happy to get outside to workout at least a bit.

Cycling 25:01 [2] 8.0 mi (3:08 / mi) +5m 3:07 / mi

5 x 2 min intervals

Reading some of my student's thesis on habitability zones within the galaxy (due to our central black hole probably having been active in the past and frying atmospheres within some certain distance of it).

Crosstrainer 30:32 [1] 0.34 mi (1:29:50 / mi)

Elliptical while reading, hmmm, about proton-tunneling reactions in metallorganic chemistry, I think... brain reaching saturation.

Crosstrainer 15:08 [1] 0.26 mi (58:16 / mi) +8m 53:00 / mi

More very easy elliptical, this time reading a math thesis on the Type A Cluster Algebra. Some neat things in it and well-written, I could actually mostly read it.

Crosstrainer 5:40 [1] 0.07 mi (1:20:42 / mi)

Very easy elliptical, was ok!!
