Not what was planned.

I was just beginning 15 minutes at an honest effort (as 70/20s) when I came across a dog on the trail ahead of me. Not just a dog, but a square headed dog. The dog was some sort of pit-bull mix. Had that pit-but head and body, but was a little small (small...or hungry?). The dog was on a leash but a person was not attached to the other end of the leash.

I had flashbacks to being torn up as a kid (dog got my leg, pulled me to the ground, chomped my back and then grabbed me by the neck). Lots of blood. Not fun.

Fortunately, this dog didn't go after me. I felt suprisingly calm as I wondered if it would be best to "feed" the dog my left arm or my left wrist (maybe the Garmin 305 on my wrist would slow him down?).

The dog kept a close eye on me, but let me walk away.

I went up to the levee and just jogged back to the car.
