Orienteering Night 1:31:00 [3]

British night champs

Not good.
Put my foot in a rabbit hole on the way to the start, so ran back to the orienteering shop ask "can I have some tape and pay you after ... And do you have ibruprofen?" not ideal

Then really struggled with understanding the map. The mapper seemed to think the green/ undergrowth and paths was more important than seeing the contors and rock features?

Plus no 5 was in the wrong place, wasn't sure if it had been stolen and I should run off or keep looks big for it! Poo boy caught me here and we ran almost together (well he ran away in the paths but I think I had more control near the controls). But I had some bad direction out of a control and never saw Peter again.

Disappointed by myself tonight but really disappointed by the quality of another shit British champs. This is the second British champs I have come to England especially for and its been really bad.
I can deal with the terrain not being great but at least do more to make it more enjoyable and less amatuer (maps, courses and controls in the right place shouldn't be too much to ask for)
also at a championship with a supposed 70min winning time 2min start intervals seem short?
9 PM

Note

After the map turn over (half way) I got really bad gut pains that lasted the night

XC Skiing 2:10:00 [3]

Further adventures with toni!!
I started with appropriate length wax less skis and toni with un-waxed normal skis after 5-10min he shouted me back "we need to swap one ski each I have no grip" the rest of the session was one good ski and one quite useless! + it was steep and hilly!! Fell over alot

Saturday Feb 13, 2016 #

12 PM

XC Skiing 38:30 [3]
ahr:148 max:174

By myself first half then with toni, south from his house

Fell hard and landed with a ski under the back of my knee, banded the tendon. Feel a bruise coming. Something to watch
3 PM

XC Skiing 53:30 [3]
ahr:158 max:184

With toni, north of his house

No real tracks with children's wax less skis (left ski for age 8 right for age 10 = different lengths) great fun! Working really hard to keep up with toni at the end until the long down hill and then he was away (105kg + better skis possibly the reason? Or that he is an ex-pro skier??)
Good training
