Road Ride 1:00:00 [2] 27.0 km (2:13 / km)

I drove to Aix les Bains to register a few people and myself for a race tomorrow and took the opportunity to discover the eastern shore of this areas 'big' lake...Lac du Borget. It has a different feel than the surrounds of Lac Annecy and I've got to go back to do the full 55k tour - just didn't want to tire out my legs at all as I'll need all the juice they can muster tomorrow!

Road Ride 1:10:00 [2] 30.0 km (2:20 / km) +570m 2:08 / km

Beautiful evening for a ride so took my borrowed ride out for what is hopefully my last ride with it - I'm supposed to get a new Cannondale in the next short while!

Road Ride 1:17:00 [3] 38.0 km (2:02 / km) +340m 1:56 / km

Every once in a while I like to give the lake tour a bit of a time trial in the early AM. I found a rabbit early on and it took me almost the whole tour to catch him - he dusted me on the Talloire climb. I had hoped to get an average of 30 kph, which is challenging with all of the slow downs that you have to do but I just fell short at 29.9 kph.

Road Ride 2:15:00 [3] 52.0 km (2:36 / km) +1100m 2:21 / km

My girls are off to Canada for 3 weeks so all of a sudden, I found myself in need of a ride. I had designs on making a nice little climbing tour of the lake but pelting rain kicked in so I bailed on the second climb. Col de Forclaz felt more difficult than normal as I'm still fatigued from last Sunday's epic amount of climbing. I also really noticed the difference in French alpine road construction versus Italian. The Italians seem much more interested in creating banked turns...which makes for quicker and more controlled descents.

Trail Run 1:18:00 [3] 8.0 km (9:45 / km) +550m 7:15 / km
shoes: Salomon SpeedCross 3

The weather forecast said something completely different from reality, thankfully, as it was a gorgeous day in the mtns for a trail run - sunny, warm, and a cool breeze. Quite a difference vs. what our friends doing WT this past weekend had to face. I drove up to Col de Contrabandier, climbed toward Mt. Baron and ran north to Col des Sauts. I took the return along the lake side down low and then climbed back up again.
