Jog round EPOC club champs at Bradley Wood, fun little forest sprint if a bit brambly. Chest much better than yesterday.

Fairly late one after travel to Edi and was ready for a solo run but as soon as I hit the meadows bumped into Louise and Emma. Half lap with Emma then bumped into Eddie too for a full lap so overall a thoroughly enjoyable run.
Headache slightly better than yesterday but main issue today was the strained diaphragm/intercostal muscle, same as on 8th June. Noticed it a bit on Thursday, similar Friday, little bit worse today. Weird. Maybe a bit better by the end once it had warmed up but decided it wouldn't harm to chill.

Felt like a while since the last long run so decided it was time for one. Still pretty tired and headachy but just plodded away and it was alright, but headache a bit more present while running than it has been the last few weeks. Calves tight but otherwise legs fairly solid, patellas much better than yesterday.

Easy plod round the Pinnacle Ln loop. Felt pretty tired, hopefully it only lasts a day or two otherwise we could be heading towards a JK reenactment next weekend. L patella a consistent 1-2 but otherwise legs fairly intact.

EUOC legs plus some calf raises. No energy for core, maybe later.
Shake. A little tired and headachy again although am sleeping great this week. Undecided on the leg feels. Would be sensible not to fully hammer the descent this evening, but depends on if I'm in a battle with someone.

Cragg Vale Fell Race, 11th.
Rough one for me this year. Felt fast off the start but was immediately dropped by a big group of 8 or 9, with Martin leading it out. Thought they were going a silly pace but didn't take too long to realise it was just me being slow. Quads felt heavy up the 2nd half of the climb and HR not getting that high, not great signs. Hopefully just a result of a lack of hill reps recently but wondering whether I've done a bit too much racing too soon after the issues of the spring, I have been basically ignoring the lingering headache thus far. Following two Elijah (17) and a 14 year old from Keighley on the flat bit and keeping up but fairly negative mentally, letting the hurt get to me and weirdly tight shoulders too. Let them go on the descent and saved the quads a bit, Ethan came past too, but then put in a good sprint back through the woods to hold off the next chaser. Martin won by 1:30 and set a new record at 25:44!

Easy hour on the moors plus 4 hill sprints. Went through Sunderland pasture without getting wet feet! Fast conditions for tomorrow. Felt a bit tired and headachy, and legs feeling a bit weird after the cycle, felt decent on the sprints though.
Out and back over Widdop, not as busy as feared and some sunshine too so quite pleasant, despite the headwind on the way out and the resurfaced (?) first section feeling extra grippy and bumpy. Decided a day off running was sensible for the achilles.
