Orienteering race 3:00:00 [4] *** 4.3 km (41:52 / km)

QOC Bowie event. Ran the green course. I think I could log this training as "deep water running"! The course was in the "floodplain" of the Patuxent river and there was heavy rain for about 12 hours before the event. The water was shin deep on most of the trails and up to my waist in several places. Also very thorny. Did I mention all of the unmapped trails? The ATV riders must love this place because there were extra trails everywhere along with the mess they make like oil bottles. This was a real challenge and a good experience. I did make it to all of the controls but it took three hours.

Cold and windy ride to work. Luckily the wind was mostly a tail wind so I made good time.

Cycling 38:00 [3] 8.0 mi (4:45 / mi)

Bike home. Sunny, but windy. Nice ride. Feeling pretty tired now, so won't do the Friday night run. Will try to get out tomorrow for a trail run.

Morning abdominal workout, push-ups (56) and stretching.

Bike to work. It had rained earlier this morning, but stopped before I took off. Nice ride. Legs feeling really good considering all the cycling and running I've been doing.

Bike home from work. There was a light rain as I left and it was kind of windy. Then the sun came out when I was about half way home. Nice ride.

Total body weight training. This was an intense workout with little rest between sets. Very tired now.

Extra long core workout this morning of abs, sit-ups, push-ups and stretching.

Neighborhood run. Tried to push the pace and had a little better time than before. Legs probably need a rest but I'll keep working to improve.

Bike to work. I thought I was going to be able to put away the tights and winter jacket, but it's back to winter weather! Legs felt kind of tired because of road ride followed by lots of lunges as the gym yesterday. But feeling good now that I'm in the office.

Bike home from work. Tough end of ride going up the hill thru Cedar Lane park.

Morning abs and stretching. Added 50 push-ups to the routine. Will increase the push-ups by 2 each day. Goal is to get to 100 push-ups at once.

Took the day off so got out for a road ride. It was cold and windy - temp around 43F.

After the bike ride went to the gym with my son to pump some iron. This is his last day of spring break. I didn't eat much after the ride, so I didn't have much energy but still got in a pretty good workout I think.
