running (WU) 4:14 [3] 0.42 km (10:03 / km)

orienteering (JIRCs Relay) 43:52 [3] 5.75 km (7:37 / km) +98m 7:01 / km
ahr:164 max:188

JIRCs relay 3rd leg, with Rachel 1st leg, Isobel 2nd. (Tankersley Wood).
Rachel handed over to Isobel with a brilliant at leat 5 min lead, Isobel kept that up, losing some time but still handing over to me in 1st. #1 it all went wrong, navigated fine to my attack point of a steep hill outcrop just to the left of control circle, then without having a further plan ran off in the vague direction to then get confused with the hundreds of pits and path junctions. Eventually after running in circles retraced back to attack point and found control, was close entire time, annoyingly. Aware I had been overtaken by a load of other 3rd leg runners so new I had to work hard to gain time and places back up. little slip up again to #4, over ran on the smaller 75 scale, realised pretty quick and turned back but still lost even more time. Nav was scrappy in that first section of woodland with the amount of pits and brambles to scramble though. After that section all I was focused on was running hard and keeping in contact with map ensuring not to mess up again. Came though spec knowing I had dropped our 1st but had no clue by how much. went into the 2nd last loop of the course and saw Evie coming out of it, she had an amazing run catching up so much time for her team. Got stuck in a few more patches of brambles but no more errors and made my way to the run in pretty certain 4th place was the best it could be, however was greeted by Rachel, Isobel and a Scottish flag, happy to here we were 2nd. Gutted to have lost our 1st but still pleased with second after such a shit show of a first half of the race.
Overall a very successful weekend for Scotland and my last time competing for Scotland as a junior.
Scotland took the over all win, along with lots of individual podiums yesterday and 2nd in the mens relays as well.

orienteering (JIRCs individual ) 56:27 [3] 6.89 km (8:12 / km) +182m 7:14 / km
ahr:157 max:197

JIRCs individual race (Cowms rocks) (55:54) pretty mental rain and fog up on the open hills. Felt fast whole way round and nav was fine apart from a couple of blips going into control circles to do with going into the wrong gullies , maybe lost about 2 mins in total . Map got very muddy and wet so trying to navigate the spectator loop was a struggle but in the end managed with the help of some heafty elephant tracks . Took the win in W18 . Solid runs from Scotland all round , podium places in every age class .

Note
(sick)

don't know whats up but spent the last 3-4 days feeling really not well (since Tuesday). think I've picked up a bad stomach bug. no appetite, super nauseous, no energy due to this. struggling through the last few days sat in the studio trying to work. woke up today feeling the worst yet so called in sick, all day in bed trying to get in as much fluids and plain foods.
great start to uni. not going to run, hopefully ok for pentlands SOL on Sunday.

Nike store fishers run with Zoe. went along to see what it would be like, not that many others, all levels of ability. nice to get to meet some new people. session included lots of starting and stopping between bridges along the Clyde and to G Green. mix of pace ranging from medium, easy jog and full out max pace. felt super shitty, probably wasn't well enough to do this. spent most of the day tired and feeling ill.
