Orienteering 24:07 [3] 4.3 km (5:37 / km)

Overall the Canberra camp has been really good. Some of the most beneficial things from the camp were:
-Practicing long legs without being able to use tracks and with minimal linear features.
-Downhill orienteering allowed me to better understand the 1:10000 scale and practice down hill bearings.
-Discussing with other orienteers and coaches allowed me to get a range of opinions, viewpoints etc.
-Using 1:15000 map in a non competitive environment was really good practice and I feel much more confident with this scale as I know I completely freaked at Aus Long this year with the scale.
-Prologue/chasing start and short start intervals helped me to get used to people running around me and practice kind of using people but not exactly following. Also allowed me to practice going at a good race pace.
-Doing the course with Brodie at Buckendera was good as we were practicing designing safe routes but not necessarily long safe routes. Brodie was also getting me to run at the pace he thinks I should be running at. This was one of the most beneficial exercises.

The camp was quite tiring and i felt that in some excercises I wasn't physically putting in 100% but I was really focusing on improving my mental skills. Great Camp!!!

I feel really motivated to train and improve!
