Munster Champs - Kilcoran Woods
Open moorland with 1 big hill. The lack of training and terrain recently meant I was feeling very exhausted already on the way to 1. Lots of walking through long grass and up hills from 2 to 6. Absolutely no idea what was going on at 7, there was supposed to be lots of big boulders but there was only 1 that the control was on and it was about 30cm high so lost about 2mins here. Then the course turned downhill and I finally felt like I was running and navigating better. Was surprised to catch sight of Niamh as I was running on the long leg down the hill to 11, which helped to work out where the control was.
Fun to tick off another country I've orienteered in now, and got some cupcakes and a groovy bag for winning :)
