O race 50:00 [3] 4.1 km (12:12 / km) +100m 10:52 / km

NSW Middle Champs - One leg again was my undoing altho I lost at least a minute or two at control 2 - this meant that Paul P caught me and he followed me thru the next 6 controls. When he got ahead I lost contact with the map and really stuffed up the leg to 9 losing about 8 minutes - both if us were looking at each other and not at the map! Found fine detail on map hard to read and took a while to get used to the mapping with only boulders above 1.5 metres mapped - there were lots of rock all of different sizes. Very short legs meant that it was hard to get away from another runner and there were few route choices - 19 controls in 3.3kms - altho I covered quite a bit more ground than that.

ride with Peter 1:40:00 [3] 40.0 km (2:30 / km) +250m 2:25 / km

Peleton of of 6 on a nice riding day for usual LBG ride - still and sunny later - no competition on the hill sprint - lots of surging today as group split and I rode between both groups spending time chatting with different people. Coffee discussion seemed to cover all current major world events.

Trail run at Black Mtn with the now retired GrantM - did a loop from Aranda and around LBM. Chatting pace expect on the climbs - lovely day.

O race 43:48 [3] 4.79 km (9:09 / km) +60m 8:36 / km

Middle distance event at (ex) Orroral Tracking Station. Lots of controls in the open areas which I ran well thru - came unstuck on one control (sounds familiar) when I went up a parallel creek in green searching for a boulder - wondered why the mapping looked suss - had to bail and go to a track junction to relocate to have another go (I could have used this option earlier but elected to go the more risky route choice) - which is when I found out what I did - lost about 7 minutes - Liz said I am running too fast now!
