Morning row in the eight. We were down one rower so we rowed with 7. I was in the #4 seat on port this time. It was pretty choppy on the water and the boat never really got stabilized when all 7 were rowing. Still, I think I'm learning more each time out.
Evening row on Liberty Bay in the 8 shell. I was again in the #6 on Port side. This was the better faster shell and oars so it felt much smoother to me. I was trying to focus on better posture the whole time and I think I did a bit better in that dept. I still need to get the blade squared earlier before the catch and I think I can extend my reach up to the catch more. I think I'm also putting in arms too soon. Only a few things to work on I guess :) It felt pretty good out there tonight despite having 3 more or less rookies rowing.
Indoor row session. I tried to focus on maintaining good form and technique from what I learned in my class. I did some pic drills and reverse pic drills during the row. I mainly tried to focus on proper back posture since I think that is where I need the most work right now.
Columbus Day ride at Stottlemyer. It was a great day out, solid dirt and sunny skies. It looks like the ground is getting close to being saturated again though so the muddy season will be upon us soon. I rode the usual warmup loop then up the road to Rose, Drop Trail, Yellowjacket, Derailed, up road to Maggie Rocks, Then over to Parallel, road to Clearcut and back on Coyote. Good day.
