Tuesday night Zwift race. I got dropped on the first major climb and didn't really do much after that. I did pick up prime points on the 2nd lap. I felt like the course was harder than last week.

Rock Climbing 1:00:00 [3]

Bouldering with Kid #1. I was able to climb 7 of the 9 beginner comp routes from a few weeks ago. Not too bad.

Saturday Feb 24 #

Snow Skiing 2:00:00 [2]

Downhill day at Bluewood with Ochoa Middle School students. Didn't do a lot of skiing on my own but maybe 5 runs or so with Kid #1. Spring like conditions. Pretty low snow pack. I hope they get a bit more before the winter is over.

Indoor Zwift race. The route had 3 laps of Volcano climb each with points up for grabs. I finished in 4th after all my points. Felt pretty good

Biking (MTB) 2:00:00 [3] 11.0 mi (10:55 / mi)
shoes: Timberjack

Ride with Sam-dog at Rattlesnake. Some lingering snow in the upper areas where the wind had drifted it. Little bit of mud to contend with where the snow was melting but not bad. Wind was blowing hard on the climb up into it but the descent was killer fast with the wind at back.

Snow Skiing 2:00:00 [3]

Day 2 of my Backcountry ski avalanche course at Salt Creek snow park in the Wallowas. We did a tour and dug a snow pit in the middle. It was cold and windy with a bunch of wind blown crust and variable conditions. Great course. I learned a lot.

Snow Skiing 3:00:00 [3]

Day 1 of Avalanche training at Salt Creek snow-park. The morning was spent doing rescue drills and we did a fair amount of shoveling. The afternoon we did some vertical up and then skied a shorter run to cap off the day. Good snow and I learned a lot.

Saturday Feb 10 #

Road Running 36:00 [3] 4.0 mi (9:00 / mi)

Easy run with CJ.

Tuesday Feb 6 #

Biking race (Indoor ) 1:03:00 [5] 17.1 mi (3:41 / mi) +2000ft 3:19 / mi
shoes: Verdi JTS

Tuesday night race on Zwift. I went out hard to try and get points on the early sprint prime. I got some points by finishing 7th there and 9th on the next KOM prime. After that I barely hung on for the final 4mi KOM to finish right ahead of Jerry who I was up by over 1min and I caught Burns for my first time finishing ahead of him this season. Good race finally

Snow Skiing (Touring) 3:00:00 [3] 4.0 mi (45:00 / mi) +1300ft 34:25 / mi

Anthony Lakes was having the annual backcountry festival weekend put on by the Wallowa Avalanche Center (WAC). They hosted some touring groups into Angell basin and Kid #1 and I joined up. I learned some new things and it was a good experience. I still need to figure out clothing layering a bit more and room for improvement with the gear and technique. I got a decent sized blister on my right arch so need to figure that out also. Weather started off sunny, but wind picked up and high clouds rolled in later in the day. Really nice out there though. A little new overnight snow made the skiing pretty decent.

Saturday Feb 3 #

6 AM

Biking (indoor) 2:14:00 [3] 44.0 mi (3:03 / mi) +2300ft 2:54 / mi
shoes: Verdi JTS

Indoor Zwift longish ride. I have three longer routes in Watopia to complete and then a few shorter ones and I'll have completed them all.
