n lake - pleasantly surprised at the nice water temperature and clarity but was anxious about the dark water. Sun was setting and most of the swim was in the shadows of the setting sun. I guess I watched too many Friday 13th movies as a kid and dark water creeps me out.

I had a reasonable judgement of how many controls I could get in 2 hours but I didn't look close enough at the topo and made a huge error between my first and second control.
I went to 34 first and then planned to get 53(I think). I missed that and went for the next one by the 2 ponds and missed that as I was not where I should have been to start. My next attempt was 42 which should have been my 2nd control all along.
It was good practice and I did relocate successfully a few times.... and I managed the clock well.
