Discussion: 15-16

I agree. The course was not as interesting as the M35A Final.
Did anyone consider taking the north route from 15-16, running back around near 13. It seems almost 50/50 to me (and was probably designed by the course setter that way), but everyone on RouteGadget seems to have taken the southern route.

That has been puzzling me too; there seemed to be such a redundancy in everyone going straight past their last couple of controls to go to the third-last, on so many courses (pity the almost-straight line is barred by an impassable wall). But I doubt anyone would go back out and around the way they had just come, not when they're so close to the end. W40A final looks more interesting to me than W35A which seems to have a lot of controls in-and-out the same way.

I saw the northern entry to 16 but couldn't see a nice way of getting to it, in the heat of the moment anyway. Having looked at it in the cold light of day I still don't think it's quite as good as the southern options (Warren found a nice variation on this, climbing the hill through the white corridor to avoid the s-bends on the track). Didn't see anybody entering 16 from the north.
