Just do what I do and leave them at home. Go do what you want to do and sod their lazy petheticness. Seems to be working for me.
TBH, spinning along in bottom gear on the MTB at 0.1mph was maybe about the best thing I could do for my duff back, it transpired, but, yes - generally, I agree. Getting a decent session in still leaves loads of hours in the day to do "family activities". Although given the choice Eilidh's "activity" would be watching cr*p on a screen.
