Nice to see you back on the Concept II rowing machine. And rowing a 2:14 pace! Hope the snow and the laurel permit you to keep up the rowing discipline. You hire a guy for your workouts; I hire a guy to do the maintenance around my property. Maybe one day you will do so too?

Well my old property manager is in California and my old workout guru is in England, so I am more or less on my own.

But there are plenty of workers who show up here. Always something going on.

Hope you're just taking a couple days off from the rowing machine. That was an excellent second piece; too bad that you pulled a muscle.

As I get older (going to be 78 in a few months) I try to moderate my pace early in the season. Body just doesn't have the resiliency to do hard work from the start. And slowly build to faster pacing. And that 'faster' top end, of course gets slower every year.

Your two pieces have motivated me to try to be more 'sprightly.' But it just isn't there this year; I think I'm working hard...then look at the PM4, and i'm only doing a 2:31 pace! But at least I live to row again the next morning. Which I think is the name of the game at my age. And a mutual friend of ours apparently agrees, getting out on his bike every day and at various energy levels, rain, snow or shine. I'm sure he too motivates all of us.

Hope you'll be back rowing soon!

Well, I hope to be back, too. Went out today with Matt on his run, figuring that I would just walk. Turns out that it is not hard to keep up on the trails. He is a city fellow, used to pavement.
