How much wood do you typically use in a winter? Maybe it's easiest to define "winter" as the part of the year during which you use firewood, so how much in a year?

Not sure. We’ve only had the house for one winter, and we didn’t use the wood stove at all last year. So I bought a cord of hardwood, and might get a NFS permit to pull another cord (softwood) out of the forest somewhere here. If we were only using wood that’s definitely not enough for the winter (sept-june?), but we’ll see how much we use it vs the gas furnace. Mostly I didn’t order more hardwood delivered because I’m not sure where to store it.

Imagine the possibilities if you had a cord of birch bark.
