I absolutely intended to be more hands-on for the model -- talking to the course setters, vetting the model controls -- but Nadim wouldn't let me. He didn't want any possible appearance of me gaining some kind of advantage for the races ... he told me virtually *nothing* about the weekend leading up to the meet.
My first visit to the model areas was Friday morning.

So, did you design the model on paper but not have anything else to do with it?

I can understand why Nadim didn't want any appearance of you having an advantage because there might have been a protest (I remember something similar at another A-meet, where I was on the jury...despite the fact that the jury's verdict didn't stick). As it is, you're the F45 US Champ--congrats!

Yup, nothing else to do with it, just setting the courses on paper. And, I understood Nadim's position; especially since it was likely to be a close contest between Kris & I -- no sense taking chances.
