Just could not get a handle on my distance estimation today!
Set off with a dodgy bearing to no.1 but hit the saddle alright and spotted the control up the hill. contoured round to 2 ending up a bit low. Then headed left of the ridge and across to 3 but got far too caught up in the green than i needed to (+1.5min). Parallel error down to 4, just being silly (30s) Hit 5 well which a lot of people didnt. then got stuck in the green again on 6 while a long train of people went around. also managed to hit the canyon bit in the middle so climbed down and up :) 7ok. then 8 was a nightmare, hit the saddle fine but then miscounted reentrants and kept stopping short. spent quite a while mucking around in various wrong stream valleys as i didnt want to overshoot the control and go off the map! swear a few people walking the course caught me up and passed me again here :s (+3-4min) finally got the control, or i think so, it didnt have a no. on it...
then annoyed with myself got 9 fine, 10 hesitated on the vague hilltop, need to trust my compass. 11,12 fine. 13 confused myself with where the saddle was, again, compass! hesitated a bit (30s) and 14-16 were ok, though the diff colour green at 15 confused me temporarily. not sure why it's a diff colour? wasn't tired til i hit the long grass to 16. mission!
overall i need to gain confidence in my navigation again, its just too rusty at the moment.

went back out to far corner of map to collect controls. incl 3,4,5 from this morning, in reverse order. apparently iverun on this map before at oceania relays 2008? did not recognise it, apart from NE corner maybe, which i think is where the event centre was.
anyway, had fun trying to find 146 in the green (but not in the green on the map)
