The Eucalypts

Course: Sprint
Fern and I thought we'd get in some map reading practice at The Eucalypts. Every single control was like playing bingo. I had trouble running thorugh the terrain and stubbed my toe a lot. It was hilarious to see Fern mix up Andrew McComb with me and tell him (jestfully) to "Get out of my way." She had to do a lot of fast talking to get out of that one! We got back and decided not to tackle more controls and opted for a straight out run instead. I don't think I put in much effort today!

Crafers Railway Station Loop

Ran with Fern on a beautiful Saturday morning after a long week of work. We ran from the County Club up to the old Crafers Station and back down. It was a good run, though i was really slow unfortunately. I had fun.

North Beach 5km
6:08 PM. Wallaroo. Burned 548 calories.

After work, Steve and I went down to North Beach for a 5km run. Steve seemed to be a fit young lad, but after the first 2.5km as we turned into the head wind i didn't see him again! At least until i got back to the car and turned around to find him. He was ok. The whole run was a very low and flat beach, with the tide out the sand was quite firm and very ripply. The ripples were really hipnotising as you ran and the patterns were really cool.

In Kadina for the week, and i'm trying to make the most of my exploring oppurtunities in a new town! I jumped in the car with Byron and Brad to the tennis courts (where they were going to have a hit) and I took off looking for the Wallaroo Mine site. I found it but was a little under-whelmed by what i found. Though the engine house was quite spectacular. I folowed the old railway line back towards town and passed theTennis Courts to find out the match score. The most interesting thing i found in Kadina so far is the Kadina Left Handed Club. I havne't been able to she much more light on it other than it seems to be a social drinking club and it still exists (though it's club house is now a residence). Pondering the exitence of such a club led me all the way back to the motel. It was jolly nice run.
