steady run 27:00 [3]

With S and IM from Glenmore to Green Loch and back via small path on north side of pass, wet but very pleasant.

Saturday Nov 7, 2015 #

Note

Level 3 course at Glenmore lodge, lots of presenting, tired. Various wanders round the grounds visiting the O checkpoints.

Friday Nov 6, 2015 #

steady run 48:00 [3]

Lap of Loch Morlich with S and JH (plus E on bike). Feeling pretty dire, legs tired and achey, either done too much recently or E's cold has migrated early...

orienteering 30:00 [3]

Collecting controls in Carlogie, still damp and drench but a bit brighter than yesterday. Some really nice bits in the forest, shame its so broken up by fences.

orienteering 45:00 [3]

Hanging controls for DNC at Carlogie. Dreich day, not raining but vegetation soaking and air cold. Big change from last few days! Courses should be fine tonight, but tricky in places.

orienteering 15:00 [3]

7-50 start to collect controls in from last nights O (couldn't face collecting them at 9-30 last night!)

Intervals hills 15:00 [5]

Hills with S. Parked at Birse big track, warm-up to start of wee path. Intervals from there to top of Carn Ferg. Managed to fit in 15 x1 min. Legs not great - cycling yesterday? or maybe just too much running in last week. Anyway, did the session, so must be good for me long term. Right heel - slightly aware of it but no real pain and achilles fine. Touch wood, but it seems to be recovering.

steady run warm up/down 1:00:00 [3]

Back through woods to fields at keepers cottage on Birsemore area. Wonderful pine woods with clean underfoot. Not much detail but very pleasant.
Another glorious sunny day - cold with a frost first thing but bright and warmth in the sun.

cycling 1:18:00 [3]

With S (she on road bike me on MTB...) Home to Lumphanan bowl, upper loop, then to X roads and Tarland road to east, cut back down to Lumphanan, church brae, back via DAP. Hard work on hills and even harder on flats - gears not high enough!
Sunny day - glorious warm sun and not a cloud in the sky, Deeside is the best place i the world in these conditions.

steady run 25:00 [3]

Easy run with after-school running club. Long loop up to fields to catch afternoon sun, great views.

orienteering 15:00 [3]

Hanging controls for scout night-O in Aboyne, short runs and driving between - the advantage of urban O :-)
