Hill Race race 1:30:00 [5]

Leg 3 UKA relay on Lomonds of Fife. Tough race - not feeling good at start, struggling on uphill and then hanging on to Alan the whole way. Very slow up hill from forest road on 5-6 (took low, left route) - basically had run out of energy. The supposed 60 minute race was significantly slower than this - 67 was faster leg with 71 being 2nd. We did 1-29-something. Ate a lot after finish and began to feel human again.
Guess I need a few more of this type of race to harden my legs!

Legs surprisingly lacking in pain and tightness. Perhaps I never reached top speed- certainly felt like that!

Rest day before fell relay. Digging in garden for about 2 hours - trying to keep effort to a low level.

Down track to main road and along to riverside path, up riverbank then back along Dess Orchard road, up through field. Calf fine and hamstring insertion much more relaxed. Should be OK for Sunday.

Torphins to home, mostly in woods and fields, great run, just a bit tired after a 2 hour walk with Ewan and Sarahuop Vat Burn and Cnoc Dubh.

Day resting hamstring - visited physio and he reckoned stretching but mostly exercises will ease it.

Surveying Inshriach 5 hours, started off cold and misty, but cleared and then glorious sunshine, not a cloud in the sky - I was tempted to return via Ciarngorm and run up!

Intervals 20:00 [5]

Not sure of exact time - didn't time session, but must have been about 20 minutes.
3 laps of Aboyne Green doing sprints from back of single file to front, then jog till turn came round again.
Next zig-zag diagonal sprints - 8 "zigs", walk recovery back to start.
Legs felt pretty good, only handicap was left hamstring insertion into bum, still slightly tweaky. Will visit Alan tomorrow for a working over.
