Orienteering 1:13:00 [3]
After a few days with huge amounts of project work near the end of term, managed to get out and take Thomas to his awards banquet for radio orienteering in Delta, and I went to watershed park. Made a course with over 50% of the rocks in the park and some other point features. The biggest mistake I made was when I read ahead one control and ran up/down a trail trying to figure out where I was since it did not with the area I was reading. Saw no one in the forest, but had a scare when I came into an area and an owl took off (then was afraid he was going to swoop me and ran for a bit with my hands/arms over my head). About 2/3 of the way through my course my light blinked and told me it would very soon run out of batteries, I turned it down to a lower setting, but it blinked again and started to get very dim... did a tempo to get out of the forest before it died completely!
