From Northfield Rd. to Norfolk Ave. and then back. I ran into construction traffic in downtown Bethesda both going and coming. It was nice to have the first outdoor ride of the year! I was overdue but work schedules, weekend busyness and bad weather had me content to be inside.

Starting from the Lathrop Environmental Center north of Lake Bernard Frank, I updated the map of the area. It was slow going since the area is feature-rich and my mapping from years before was more general. I also didn't have photo imagery that's as good as is available now. That made aligning things a little awkward, as well as making it more difficult to match-up vegetation mapped long ago, with what we have today. I was pushing darkness again since I discovered some new trails on my way back. There were significant areas that had gotten more thorny too.
