Bike - Road 1:03:00 [3] 27.3 km (2:18 / km) +300m 2:11 / km
(injured)

Slow to get going today and a little tired from being out on the bike several times in a week when I've done so little on it for months. Kept it short again but pushed quite hard on the climb (headwind all the way up - of course). Wind aside, it was nice to be out and my calf was only sore from poking it yesterday.

Strength exercises 21:00 [3]
(injured)

First strength session in many a week and boy am I out of shape, need to get back into the habit of doing this more regularly. Was planning on another cycle but a badly (or well?) timed shower and general tiredness convinced me otherwise (nothing to do with the athletics on TV).

(injured) (rest day)

Still a long way from being fixed but no real aftermath to yesterday, but being sensible (I hope) and taking it easy.

Bike - Road 1:24:00 [3] 37.6 km (2:14 / km) +400m 2:07 / km

Wow, I feel alive at last, actually manged to get out and do some decent exercise and feel a world better for it. Calf no problem at all, either during the day or cycling, (think it's about time I got mf fingers stuck into it and create some healthy pain). Smashing evening cycle out Foxhouse way, across to Owler Bar, round Ramsey Moor and back home via unknown back roads. Legs were actually up for it from the start although my heart wasn't quite sure what was being asked of it (way out of shape). Was pretty spent by the end; that's about as much as my body can take at the moment. Cyclists may claim to shave their legs for aesthetic/aero/massage/feminine reasons but I have discovered a better one after hitting a swarm of flying ants at speed and having them tangled up in my copious mane.

What's wrong with my body? I knew that mental side has always been weak but physically it has usually held up OK. Woke this morning with a sore left knee. I haven't done anything to make it sore. Presumably connected to the calf but why is it making an objection now???

Climbing 1:00:00 [2]

Climbing at The Works with Danger, ba-ba and Rose. Not been in ages and my fingers started to dismantle themselves before my arms gave out, had probably done about enough by then though. Very much enjoyed it, need to have some moral support to encourage me to do these things, but will hopefully make it a bit more regularly from now. Got to wear my new (£3) shoes for the first time; so much more grippy than my old ones.

No time at all today; good news in that my calf is definitely hurting less but the bad news is that the speed (or rather lack of) of my coughs departure seems to have slowed.

Note
(injured)

Poorly timed shower, unexpected work, house viewing and phone calls all conspired to prevent me doing anything this evening. Calf a lot happier though (although still sore).
