Day 2 at The Murdering Shed
Not a good run, I was making errors on just about every leg. I think most of them came from not remembering that the scale was 1:15 000.
Came down 1 gully too early on #5 and ran the wrong way along the creek but realised when I saw the pine tree. Took a bad bearing from the wrong spot going to #7 and after wandering around for a bit went back to the creek to relocate and found the spot were I was going for the first time and could see the control from there. Going to #10 I got caught in the green and realised after a bit that I had not idea where in it i was and that I was wasting time so when I could find a spot to slide down the earth wall into the creek I took it and ran along untill I could get out the other side and I found myself in the clearing way to the left of the control and then went back to the creek to fins the control. Lost time on #16 because I could see the third green bit of veg on the map because of how small it was and was confused with all the spectators etc.
Definitely need to do more training for runs like this one!

Day 1 at Isaacs Ridge
Really nice area with lots of good technical bits and lots of different types of forest.
Took #1 pretty cautiously and lost a little bit of time checking a control on the group of rocks a bit higher than my control but then saw my control from there. Was taking it a bit slow to try to conserve energy because I didn't know how I would hold up with the long wait after brekky from the late start. For #2 I was slow and cautious through the green, I knew it would be easy to lose or gain height trying to get through and wanted to contour as accurately as I could. Gunned it to #4 to try to get away from Ella and caught Lanita there and we were running together for the rest of the course#6 was a slow slog up the hill but I was using the time to plan the rest of the course so it wasn't wasted time.
Overall really happy with this run.

Sprint at the University of Canberra
Mostly pretty good, happy with route choices and nav for the most of it.
I lost time on #7 because I was being too cautious and not focused enough in the bush, probably because I wasn't expecting it I think. The biggest time loss was on control #11 though, I lost contact with the map but didn't realize and I went down a path parallel to the one I wanted too early. I remember thinking that it was weird and made the map fit. I lost time looking around and trying to relocate before bailing to the main road and starting again from where I knew were I was. Lost at least 2 mins. Also lost some time going to #13 because I took a small passageway to avoid some people but it had more corners which would've slowed me down. Was luckily stopped going up the stairs on the way to #17 by the tape. Almost went down and around the long way to #18 but luckily realised before it was too late and could go back and not lose too much more time.
